The final part of our ghost hunt at Waverly Hills Sanatorium, one of the most haunted places in the world! Will we capture real paranormal activity on video?
Waverly Hills Sanatorium
About Waverly Hills (per Wikipedia) “The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a closed sanatorium located in southwestern Louisville, Kentucky. It opened in 1910 as a two-story hospital to accommodate 40 to 50 tuberculosis patients. In the early 1900s, Jefferson County was ravaged by an outbreak of tuberculosis (the “White Plague”) which prompted the construction of a new hospital. The hospital closed in 1962, due to the antibiotic drug streptomycin that lowered the need for such a hospital.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waverly_Hills_Sanatorium
Many people consider Waverly Hills Sanatorium as one of the most haunted places in the United States. It has appeared frequently on many of the major paranormal reality television shows and it hosts daily and nightly tours. It is is easy to see why people believe it’s haunted. The building is massive and any place with a morgue is definitely creepy. I also investigated the death tunnel where they would dump dead bodies (it reminds me a lot of American Horror Story Asylum) and Room 502 where a nurse supposedly hung herself. The gift shop and ticket office has a very interesting collection of ghost photographs taken by visitors over the years. I was very impressed by the quality of some these pictures. If you visit Waverly Hills, you must definitely check this photo album out. Make sure you see the photo of “Big Black”, the most famous apparition of Waverly Hills. Big Black is a massive dark shape that is so big it blocks out the light of entire hallways.
