New paranormal investigation video! Watch the ghost hunt for spirits at a creepy haunted church! Scary activity surprises real life investigators!
The people in the Hamon area built this church in the late 1870s for use as as Presbyterian Church. It later became the Hamon Baptist Church and was presided over by a circuit riding preacher. The Hamon Church is presently located at Pioneer Village in Gonzales, Texas. This cypress-sided building has a theater floor and is still used for special events and weddings. When I visited Pioneer Village an employee told me that she believed the church was haunted.
A Personal Investigation
I am always wary of paranormal investigations at haunted churches. Years of being raised in a Catholic family has always given me mixed feelings about ghost hunting to begin with. Although I reconciled those feelings a long time ago, whenever I investigate a church, those feelings come back. In addition, the one area of the paranormal I am always careful about dealing with is evil or demonic entities. For better or worse, probably because of movies such as the Exorcist and Stigmata with strong religious themes, I am always fearful of false entities that might be attracted to a house of God (especially when I as an investigator give a spirit an invitation to communicate with me or enter a building).
What really creeped me out was that I felt like something was outside the church, but could not get in. I almost felt like whatever it was, it was trying to draw me outside. When I came over to the door, I really heard walking and scratching outside. Most likely, it probably was an animal or something natural. Still, with how I already felt, it was easy for me to jump to conclusions. That’s the biggest challenge about being a paranormal investigator. Your expectations and personal beliefs will affect what your experience in an investigation. Perception is reality. In the end, I did not capture any solid evidence, but it was an investigation I would not forget.
