Is the Ouija Board dangerous or just a game? Recently I tried an Ouija Board and what happened actually surprised me. I have been real interested in using an Ouija Board in an investigation for a while and I have had a lot of requests from fans to do so. The only reason I have not is that I had mixed feelings about what might actually happen if I used it.
Ouija Board History
Before I wanted to try to experiment with the Ouija Board I wanted to know more about its history. The Ouija Board dates back to 1890. It was a parlor game and for about thirty-forty years until World War One people just thought it was a game. During World War One a spiritualist starting saying it was a way to communicate with the dead and that’s how the current perception of the Ouija Board started. Of course nowadays the legend of the Ouija Board has really taken off. It’s really popular in television, movies, and books. There was an Ouija movie earlier this year and more people than ever are really worried that it’s dangerous. In 2001 a group at a Christian church in New Mexico burned Ouija Boards so it makes you realize that even in mainstream religion there are people who really look down at the Ouija Board as something evil. Of course, on the flip side of religion, somebody always has a scientific explanation for everything. Some scientists believe the Ouija Board is the result of the “Ideometer Effect”. It’s a subconscious effect that happens when people as a group subconsciously write something together. So is it science? Is it religious? I went out to find out for myself.
Is the Ouija Board Real?
Unfortunately, no matter how much we tried to get a response, the Ouija board would not move. We tried different combinations of people and questions for 45 minutes without a single movement. Although I was not sure whether or not to be skeptical, I wanted to be respectful of the Ouija Board just in case. I am a paranormal researcher after all and I try to be open and think that anything is possible. I wonder since we were skeptical we had no results. I almost need to use it with people who believe in the Ouija Board to research more about it. I’ve heard countless accounts, good and bad, from people I personally know and I can’t believe they are all lying.
I am real interested to find out what other people’s experiences with the Ouija Board have been. If you had an experience good or bad, please share in the comment section. Hopefully in the future I will try the Ouija Board again and get better results the second time around.
