I joined paranormal investigators from various television shows to discuss the differences between real life ghost hunting and reality TV at Phoenix Comicon 2014.
Paranormal Investigators TV Show Panel
The Phoenix Comicon was a great place to come together and discuss real life experiences as ghost hunters! This panel was arranged by Southern Arizona Ghost and Paranormal Society. SAGAPS appeared in an episode of “Paranormal Challenge” and co-founder Hector Barragan was an investigator on “Killer Contact”. The panel featured Sommer Jonez from Alameda Paranormal (“My Ghost Story”), Paranormal EXP (“Paranormal Challenge”), and me. These paranormal groups discussed their experiences on TV and the pros and cons of investigating on a show. I discussed the independent route of a YouTube paranormal web series like Dead Explorer, which allows you to have complete control of your investigations and what you share.
It was really exciting to attend the Phoenix Comicon. There are some really cool and creative people dressed up in these amazing costumes. There was an energy in the air from all these people that came together to express themselves. Although obviously not everybody at the Phoenix Comicon was into the paranormal like I me, I felt I had a lot in common with the all the people there. There are basically looking to do what they love with their life. For some people that is dressing up in costumes and being their favorite characters. For people like me and my paranormal investigator friends its ghost hunting. The goal of my presentation was to connect with the audience and to hopefully inspire them to be really creative and to do what you love. In the end I had a really good time connecting with people there and it was a great way to promote the paranormal community to others in person.
There was a great recap of all the paranormal presentations from the Phoenix Comicon on Examiner.com. Check out “Paranormal Teams Share Their Expertise at Phoenix ComiCon 2014”.
