In search of the donkey lady! In this video we hunt for the famous urban legend just outside of San Antonio, Texas. Could she be real? Could the scary ghost story be true?
The Donkey Lady
Residents in San Antonio, TX all know the Donkey Lady urban legend. Supposedly, this poor spirit was burned alive in her home. Not only that, she lost her two children in the fire. She was left disfigured (some say she now looks like a donkey) and she now terrorizes anyone who goes near the bridge she lives under. I went to the haunted bridge with Roger from Shadowlight Paranormal to see if we could capture real paranormal activity on video.
To Provoke or Not to Provoke?
I have publicly gone on the record that I do not provoke. You wouldn’t go insulting and starting a fight with a total stranger, so why would you with a spirit? Especially if you believe that ghosts were once living human beings. My theory is that you will get a better response form a spirit with respect and positive communication. However, I understand there is no one right way to investigate and everyone must use the approach that works for them. I say more power to those who like to provoke as part of their research methods. I just personally don’t do it. However, in this investigation we made an exception to the no provoking rule because the actual legend of the donkey lady states she only appears if you insult her.
One of the biggest challenges of an outdoor investigation is the possibility that people can walk into your investigation. In this case, this is exactly what happened. Luckily, we ran into people who were looking for the donkey lady too and they ended up joining our investigation. The fact that two random groups of people were looking for the donkey lady on the same night speaks to the popularity of the legend.
