Are the scary ghost stories of Landa Park true? Real life paranormal investigators were surprised by an unusual encounter at this famous central Texas haunted location!
This paranormal investigation was conducted at Landa Park in New Braunfels, an old German town in central Texas. A canal was built in this area by 1800s slaves to bring water into the town. These slaves were working under excruciating circumstances using a back hoe (a wooden device attached a mule) to dig a canal of epic scale. Over the years many slaves died under the oppressive regime of the local land baron. Locals say if you visit Landa Park at night you will see spirits, or shadow people, roam throughout the park. In addition, as you stroll through the park, you will hear footsteps walking right behind you and the digging sounds of the slaves working on the canal. Occasionally you might actually see lights of the workers’ night time lanterns. They even say if you press your luck, a spirit might grab your leg!
Walk on the Wild Side
Immediately, we were surprised by how many animals we encountered at Landa Park. In fact, so many animals live in Landa Park there was a sign that listed them all. We could hear the ducks in the park’s lake and we spotted several deer throughout the park. From a distance the reflection of our flashlights in a deer’s eyes made an eerie impression. Could someone with an overactive imagination mistaken these animals for spirits? They definitely could account for the reports of lanterns and footsteps.
Just when we ready to dismiss the tales of ghost lanterns, we were surprised to see a light lash in the distance. We immediately rushed to follow the light. What we found next was a total surprise. What was it? Watch the video and find out!
